全国に3万社以上ある稲荷神社の総本宮である。711年に建てられ、1300年以上の歴史ある神社。稲荷山に本殿があり、後ろに塚や祠が点々としている。千本の鳥居が連なり太陽の光を浴び朱塗りされた鳥居が輝き神秘的に見える。幻想的な雰囲気が漂いおすすめです。お正月には全国から250万人が参拝に来日する。
神社内には狐の像があり一つ一つ顔が違い神社を守る使者である。
夕方からはライトアップされ昼間とは違う顔が見られます。
